Date: Mon, 27 Mar 2000 15:20:41 -0700 (MST)
Press ReleaseIn response to today's britannica.com article, Internet artist Mark Amerika was quoted as saying "it's now become apparent that britannica.com is trying to position themselves as the old media stalwart operating in a new media art environment. Instead of focusing their ire and frustration on the inadequacies of so-called e-literature, maybe they should pay attention to how Internet artists are using the web as a unique compositional medium unto itself. After eight years of experimenting with writing on the Net, I can promise our friends at britannica that there is no such thing as web literature."
